There are currently two flavors of ActiveMQ available - the “Classic” broker, and the next generation broker code-named Artemis (which will become the next “Classic” major version at some point). This page only tracks ActiveMQ “Classic” releases.

Apache ActiveMQ does not have a clearly defined release and support policy. But it seems that the last two minor releases are currently community-supported.

The full list of versions, with their associated release notes, is available on the Apache ActiveMQ website.

More information is available on the Apache ActiveMQ website.

You should be running one of the supported release numbers listed above in the rightmost column.

You can check the version that you are currently using by running:
activemq --version

You can submit an improvement to this page on GitHub :octocat: . This page has a corresponding Talk Page.

A JSON version of this page is available at /api/apache-activemq.json. See the API Documentation for more information. You can subscribe to the iCalendar feed at /calendar/apache-activemq.ics.
